You may have noticed that the popup killer is an integral part of AE, but in the past I have had problems with it using too much resource and thus preventing AE from working properly. I have found that the standalone version does exactly the same job but seems to use less resource. Now, our glorious leader will – I'm sure – tell you that there is no difference between the two but if you are having problems with AE while the popup killer is activated this could be worth a try.
